Super cyclone Amphan killed at least 84 people across West Bengal and Bangladesh.
The chief minister of West Bengal state Mamata Banerjee, said “nothing I have seen in my life” two districts of the city had been “completely devastated. We have to rebuild those districts from scratch.” “We are facing three crises: the coronavirus, the thousands of migrants who are returning home, and now the cyclone,” she said.
In neighbouring Bangladesh, officials said 16 people had died, 10 million people were affected, and some 500,000 people may have lost their homes.
Kolkata: The super cylone Amphan formed in the Bay of Bengal on 16 May, 2020. On the 20th may, Amphan made a huge impact in coastal areas Odisha with ferocious wind and rain, as well as kolkata, Hoogly, Howrah, North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas in West Bengal were affected by the Amphan Cyclone. It also caused significant destruction in Bangladesh. Cyclone Amphan considered even more destructive than last year Cyclone Aila.
