Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held an emergency meeting in Nabanna to discuss the situation of the Corona virus in the state. The meeting discussed in detail the situation of Corona virus and lockdown in the state. At the moment the number of virus infections is increasing in West Bengal. At the meeting, Mamata Banerjee decided to extend the lockdown in the state.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that the general lockdown will continue till August 31. She said, "It's not a complete lockdown, There will be a complete lockdown two days a week." The Chief Minister said, "Tests are being increased in Bengal, so the number of victims is also increasing. But there is nothing to fear. We are completely in control. People need to be aware."

The Chief Minister further said that, complete lock down is not possible for the whole month, so lock down will continue two days a week. She also said that, in the remaining days, normal activities will continue in accordance with the social distance. The school and college will be closed till August 31. If the virus situation returns to normal in the state, it may be considered to start education in September, she said.
